Care Packages

I need to start by saying that I don’t expect a care package from anyone. Several people have been emailing to ask so here is a list of suggestions if you would like to send something. Please know that anything you send is very appreciated, whether it is included in this list or not. Also, to cut down on the shipping cost use the “if it fits, it ships” boxes from the USPS. They have a weight limit for international travel but it seems to be much more cost efficient. UPS might also be good, not sure yet.  Mail takes 7-10 days to get to me so keep that in mind also if you are shipping food. Lastly, I am not putting my address on here so if you would like to send me something, and I have not already sent you my address, please email/comment/facebook/etc me and I will get it to you.

 
Here is a list of things I haven’t been able to find here and miss so far:

Gum – I like Orbit Mist “flavor burst peppermint” or Orbit sweet mint. No spearmint please. I bought a big pack of sweet mint from Sam’s before I left. The flavor burst is usually only available at the checkout stand.

Hair dye – Nice’N Easy #103 – Natural Blonde. (I appreciate the irony of the color)

Small Flour tortillas – the Fajita ones are best – you get way more and they are cheaper

Candy – for students, not me. It should be small and individually wrapped. And maybe some twizzlers or Reeses for me.

Books – paperback – I read weird stuff, most of you know this. If you send me the memoirs of someone with a twisted story, I will probably like it. I am trying to expand my reading horizons this year though so you can send anything you think is worthy of a read.

Any easy, cheap, light weight American food. I have a microwave and a stove top, but no oven. mac and cheese is fabulous. popcorn, pasta, no-bake desserts are great too.

Gossip magazines – People, Cosmo. you know, the important stuff

Vitamins

Soup mixes – tomato, French onion

Mimi’s mints – I had a whole conversation about them yesterday with a guy from Tampa. If you happen to go to Mimi’s, grab an extra handful for me

CD’s or DVD’s – I only have two channels in English – Animal Planet and On Style which plays continuous reruns of Sex and the City, America’s Next Top Model, and Korea’s Next Top Model. It’s getting old.

Dill flavored pringles or chips. They are hard to find sometimes though. Or Cheetos! Most of the chips here are fish or shrimp flavored. Bleh.

Captain Crunch…. It’s still my favorite.

And don’t forget the wiener dog.
